I don't expect there will be any more notes to post from our friends the roosters.
They seem to have - ahem - lost their interest in maintaining a blog, shall we say? They just didn't have their heads set on it.
Chickens are so dumb.

The children are hand-feeding us bugs tonight as an appetizer to the Grand Feast. We feel so special! We can't wait to see what the next course is.
They used a soft piece of cord to hang Casserole by his feet from a tree. He says it's making him drowsy, but he doesn't really mind since the children are feeding him extra bugs while he's there. It must be the place of honor.
I'm a little annoyed at that since I'm Head Rooster, but I guess the children don't understand. They're very sweet kids and wouldn't purposely be disrespectful.

a little fun

We led the children on a merry chase today. Chicken Soup figured out how to untie the cords they were using to tether us and he let us go one by one. It was a lot of fun, but we let them catch us when we saw that they were getting tired.
We're all in the cages now, passing notes to the cat. He said he'll put them on the Blog Thing for us. He is such a good friend. I don't know why he's so nice when we can't do him any favors in return, but he says he just likes chickens.

Hi. We're roosters. We don't know what a blog is, but the cat said that all the animals here have a blog, and he's helping us make one too. He is really nice to us.
Everyone is nice to us here. Well, except the dog. She just chases us, but we're not really scared. I kind of like her, because after she pulled out my tail feathers we all agreed I could be the Head Rooster. Since I'm the only one that has been attacked by a dog, I'm the smartest and most experienced.
So I'm Head Rooster, and the other 6 are just regular roosters.
We're very excited to be part of this family. They said something about having a big feast because we came, and the cat says they really like chicken here.
The children are very nice to us too. They gave us names like their other pets. We never had names before. I can't remember everyone's names, but mine is easy because it's just initials: BBQ. Some of the others are Stir Fry and Casserole.
5 of us escaped when the children took us out of the cages, but we're hanging around. We like it here. Anyways, the 2 that didn't escape just have a little string on one foot to keep them close, and they have a bucket of water and lots of scraps. 2 of the others let themselves get caught too cuz they were hungry. Now it's just me, Casserole and Stir Fry running loose.
The cat said he'll let us in the house every night to do our blog, as long as we're here. I don't know why we would ever leave!
